The Hometown Heroes Program was created to support Florida’s workforce and first-time homebuyers. It helps cover the biggest barrier to homeownership, the upfront costs.

Here’s what you need to know:

    •    💰 Assistance Amount: Up to 5% of the first mortgage amount, capped at $35,000 (minimum of $10,000).

    •    🏡 Use of Funds: Down payment and closing costs.

    •    💸 Repayment: 0% interest, deferred loan — only repaid when you sell, refinance, or move out.

    •    📅 Launch Date: Funds become available August 18, 2025.

    •    🔑 Eligibility: You must be pre-approved by a participating lender and under contract on a home to reserve your funding.
